Johnson Kraeuter Attorney Anne Allen Westbrook elected to Georgia General Assembly

Johnson Kraeuter Attorney Anne Allen Westbrook was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in the November 8, 2022 general election. Westbrook will represent Georgia House District 163 for the 2023-2024 legislative session. House District 163 includes much of the City of Savannah, part of Garden City, Vernonburg, and unincorporated Chatham County.

Westbrook ran on a platform of protecting voting rights, expanding access to healthcare, fully funding public education, ensuring coastal resiliency, and protecting ‘home rule’ for local municipalities, among other issues. Westbrook joins an incoming class of more than 40 new House legislators.

In Westbrook’s words, “I am looking forward to getting to work for the people of this diverse district. Our district has great opportunities for growth in the coming years, as well as our share of challenges. I hope to use my skills as an attorney and my experience as an advocate to help this district, our community, and the state of Georgia be a place where all people can thrive.”

The new session of the Georgia General Assembly convenes on January 9, 2023, and will remain in session for forty working days.

A 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, Westbrook has been practicing family law with Johnson Kraeuter, LLC, since 2013. Westbrook has served on several nonprofit boards as well as serving as a Cultural Affairs Commissioner for the City of Savannah. She and her husband, also an attorney, live in Ardsley Park with their three boys.
