Our firm is proud to announce that our founding partner, R. Scot Kraeuter, has been elected the vice chair of the Georgia State Bar Family Law Executive Committee. He has been part of the Family Law Executive Committee since 2010, when he joined as an at-large member. In 2016, he was elected as the secretary of the committee, and has been appointed vice chair this year. Our firm is dedicated to providing excellent legal advice and representation to clients facing family law and divorce issues. Attorney Kraeuter’s high ethical standards and knowledge of the Georgia legal system has led him to become a leader in the State Bar Family Law Section. We are excited to celebrate this accomplishment with him.

What Is the Georgia State Bar Family Law Section?

The State Bar Family Law Section includes about 1,900 members. It is an active and dynamic organization that encourages its members to stay current on the ever-changing area of family law. It promotes continuous education for its members, and helps sponsor the Family Law Institute in May each year, as well as two “Nuts and Bolts of Family Law” seminars.

Furthermore, the State Bar Family Law Section monitors changes in legislation, and helps draft new legislation, in the area of family law on a regular basis. In a quarterly newsletter, it reveals updates on the latest legislation, articles of emerging areas of legal practice, changes to Superior Court Rules, summaries of recent appellate court cases, and interviews with members of the judiciary. The Section strives to keep its members actively growing and anticipating legislation in the area of family law.

With its commitment to integrity and respect, The Section provides assistance and unlimited guidance to its members. Membership is available to all who are part of the State Bar of Georgia and practice in the area of family law. In addition, membership is always open, and there is no time restriction on when prospective attorneys can join.
