Domestic dockets have been suspended at the Chatham County courthouse for the next few weeks. Matters that can be handled while we Shelter-in-Place are:

  • Uncontested Divorces – Chatham County is permitting uncontested divorces to be resolved by stipulation and without court appearance
  • Emergency Hearings or Orders – Chatham County judges will address issues involving domestic violence or other domestic emergency matters
  • Mediation – Johnson Kraeuter has technology to facilitate remote mediations where all parties can gather virtually to resolve pending cases.
  • Discovery – Discovery in cases can continue during this time to the extent documents and evidence can be produced while sheltering in place. Continuing discovery during this time will ensure timely resolution of contested matters once the dockets are reinstated.
  • New client consultations – Johnson Kraeuter’s attorneys are taking new clients during this time. Consultations will occur via telephone or Zoom video conference.
  • Research and Motion Practice – Johnson Kraeuter’s attorneys retain access to all legal research databases while they are sheltering in place, and the Clerk’s office is accepting filings in cases. Now is a good time to focus on strategically advancing the ball in pending cases.

The attorneys and staff of Johnson Kraeuter, LLC hope that you and yours stay healthy during this time of crisis, and we stand ready to continue offering our unparalleled personalized service to you.
